Team Overview

The Residential Marketing team is responsible for product management and marketing all aspects of shingle and residential roofing system products. The team interacts with a multitude of the departments including Creative, Planning, Finance, Sales Operations and numerous external vendors. All members of the team are considered to be subject matter experts and have a strong cross functional knowledge of the entire product offering.

Summary

Reporting into the Sr. Director, Marketing - Residential Accessories, this role will lead and manage all facets of the Strategic Product Plan and Product Life Cycle for MasterFlow Ventilation - Rooftop Accessories; as well as support the MasterFlow Duct business as needed. This position will be responsible for driving a 3-5 year Strategic Plan to determine the best product & channel path to achieve the highest possible profit for the company while meeting company goals. In order to be successful in this position, the product manager must work with internal and external GAF employees, customers and vendors with respect to all aspects of the product cycle from development to discontinuation. The Manager will maintain solid interdepartmental and customer relationships by addressing questions and concerns with speed and professionalism. They will also be strong analytically with a strong grasp on using software like Excel and Google Sheets to help make decisions factually. To achieve our goals the Product Manager will:

  • Plan, manage and deliver new product launches on time & within budget while meeting all expectations, while leading cross functional teams to ensure we meet business objectives.

  • Learn & understand the markets and product categories we compete in to make the best possible decisions. This includes at the Industry, Channel & Product levels.

  • Perform in-depth analysis of category as needed to determine best way to maximize profitability

  • Break down and analyze categories to provide direction and goals on a SKU by SKU basis.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be the conduit between Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and R&D to provide a winning strategy and solution to problems as they arise

  • Work with design team to develop and launch brochures and other marketing collateral to support existing products

  • Working with the Burgaw Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to drive new products to market quickly

  • Work with Sales team to execute business objectives

  • Travel with sales personnel and attending meetings with customers as needed to provide expert product knowledge and to understand market needs

  • Analysis of each category as needed to provide the most profitable path to meet company goals

  • Identify and realize business improvements on enhancements of mix and profitability

  • Strategize and help implement channel specific strategies including retail, one-step, two-step distribution, online & OEM and participate in creative for these different channels

  • Execute new product launches by working with all teams to develop plans and be responsible for execution.

  • Work with the Marketing Services teams to help package, promote, market items as needed.

  • Responsible for preparing reports that interpret market trends by products or business unit

  • Conductmarketresearchforvariousnewproductsormarkets.

  • Travel: 35% Attend trade shows, marketing - sales events, field installs, vendor visits

  • Bachelor’sdegreeinarelatedfieldsuchasMarketing,BusinessManagement, Analytics, Finance, or equivalent experience

  • 5 Years of Product Management or equivalent analytical experience

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets

  • Knowledge of market and industry trends

  • Experience in Data Visualization (Tableau) and Data Extraction / Transformation Tools

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data

  • Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, & analytical skills

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task & handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Exposure to predictive analytics programs or languages (i.e. Alteryx, R, Python, or other statistical methods) a plus
