Job Summary

The Critical System team is responsible for the design, operation, and maintenance of advanced electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems that support Head Ends and communication rooms. This role involves the inspection, upkeep, and repair of various mechanical cooling equipment and systems, as well as overseeing vendors and contractors to ensure a secure and stable work environment for critical technology and associated personnel. Ensuring the continuous functionality of critical infrastructure for daily operations and emergency situations is a top priority.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC equipment, promptly responding to any abnormal conditions.
  • Collaborate on construction projects, including vendor coordination and communication with building tenants.
  • Support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Monitor and update the Building Maintenance System (BMS).
  • Conduct weekly inspections of AC equipment, promptly identifying and addressing any issues.
  • Perform necessary repairs on HVAC equipment.
  • Maintain EPA/Universal CFC certification.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to external vendors engaged in maintenance and repairs, evaluating the quality of their service and contract execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory plans, policies, standards, and procedures, upholding facility compliance.
  • Participate in after-hours emergency response standby.
  • Contribute to special projects and fulfill other assigned duties.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree, trade school certification, other certified training in a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC systems within an industrial, commercial, or data center environment.
  • Availability for after-hours emergency response standby.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
  • Possession of a clean and valid Driver's License.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in office software applications.
  • Adherence to all safety equipment and protocols to maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with Company and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Occasional physical requirements, including climbing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
