The Housekeeper has access to and is responsible for daily cleaning and supplying of locked medication rooms, patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, lavatories, bathrooms, offices and any areas assigned in accordance with Hospital Objectives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High school graduate or GED

- Performs cleaning functions in assigned area following established schedule and using prescribed methods.
- Maintain assigned equipment and have repairs made when needed.
- Use equipment such as vacuum cleaners, automatic scrubbers, roto's and extractors along with chemical for their intended purpose so that equipment and hospital property are not damaged.
- Dry mop and wet mop floors. Wash ceilings, walls, lights, windows, vents and patient room furnishings.
- Vacuum, spot cleans, clean-up spills, shred confidential papers, removed trash and infectious waste, and transport as necessary
- Transports various sizes of oxygen, etc., cylinders to requesting departments. Set-up meeting rooms, move furniture and equipment
- Replaces disposables such as paper towels, soap, toilet tissue, items in personal protection boxes and sharps containers
- All rooms of discharged patients are promptly and thoroughly prepared and Patient Placement is notified by bed tracking.
- The Housekeeper has access to, and is responsible for, performing cleaning duties in locked medication rooms. The Housekeeper is aware that they are not responsible for medications and they should report any unsecured medications to a licensed professional.
