The Category Management Manager (Sales Analytics) is a key liaison between Headquarters and Field Sales, in creating and understanding the business trends at customers (retailers), interpreting promotional programs and providing overall analytical support. The Category Management Manager will be actively involved in creating insights-based strategies and uncovering opportunities for PIM Brands. The Category Management Manager will be responsible for building an indispensable partnership with internal colleagues, brokers and customers alike.

The Category Management Manager (Sales Analytics) is responsible for providing analytical support for the respective channel and support to the Director, Category Strategy & Analytics.

  • Leverage multiple data sources to prepare best-in-class reports and presentations for both internal teams and external customers, summarize key learnings and provide actionable recommendations

  • Present analyses to customers for Category and Line reviews

  • Collaborate with Sales Team to meet their needs to drive sales and profitable opportunities

  • Leverage data and insights to analyze performance and understand trends to drive assortment and increase distribution

  • Identifying customer opportunities through gap analysis

  • Utilize an understanding of market dynamics, consumer trends, and shopper behaviors to deliver category insights

  • Develop and execute situation assessments annually to aid in brand planning

  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making while educating the organization on data capabilities and tools

  • Create Playbooks annually to be leveraged by the Sales Team to drive increased distribution, optimal placement, promotional guidelines, and optimal merchandising recommendations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field

  • Minimum of five plus years of experience

  • Extensive CPG analytical, sales, research, category management or marketing experience

  • Experience providing industry, consumer, and customer trends to develop strategies and action plans

  • Strong presentation skills internally and in front of customers

  • Demonstrated strong understanding and experience with Syndicated Data (Nielsen/ IRI / 84.51)

  • Knowledge of planogram software a plus

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and exceptional PowerPoint/presentation-building skills

  • Ability to function with a high level of proficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to access, assess, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from sales, customer, and shopper data

  • Ability to successfully work cross-functionally and manage third party vendors

  • Ability to synthesize complex data and develop persuasive internal and external presentations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and organization skills, and strong presentation skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, with high levels of proficiency in Excel

  • Proven record of building strong relationships both internally and externally with the ability to influence people, including building high level of trust and commitment

  • Self-motivated and bias for action

    Worksite:

  • The PIM Brands Global Headquarters in Park Ridge, NJ

  • The role requires working on-site: Monday thru Thursday, and working remote on Friday

  • Estimated <10-15%; to manufacturing locations, trade shows, retailer/broker/customer business reviews, etc.
