VCA Animal Hospitals Rehab Assistant in Park City, Utah

VCA Powder Paws Animal Hospital is looking for a part time veterinary assistant/technician to work in our Rehabilitation department! Our hospital provides a unique rehabilitation team focused on treating and preventing injury, aiding recovery, and enhancing performance. Helping dogs live well is what drives us.

The ideal candidate would have experience as a rehab assistant in a veterinary setting and be comfortable with animal handling and restraint, familiar with general animal health and medications, and knowledgeable in canine anatomy.

As a Powder Paws Rehabilitation Assistant, you will:

  • Work under the supervision of our rehab practitioner to implement designated rehabilitation therapy plans

  • Also be comfortable working autonomously with indirect supervision

  • Communicate one on one with our clients as you work with their pet, and implement home exercise plans and other client education aspects

  • Complete digital medical record keeping and documentation as appropriate to the cases you see

  • Contact clients and follow up with scheduling appointments

  • Treat with a variety of modalities, including Under-water Treadmill

  • Aid in the cleaning and maintenance of the underwater treadmill

We are searching for a Veterinary Assistant who...

  • Holds a current rehabilitation certification – preferred but not needed

  • Has a minimum of 1 year of experience

  • Has a High School Diploma/GED

  • Experienced working in veterinary medicine

  • Can lift up to 50lbs

  • Is able to work on the floor, crawl, bend in various directions, grasp objects, reach, and squat as this is a physically demanding role

  • Canine behavior, Canine Athlete experience a plus

Our rehab services operate on Tuesday through Friday weekly and looking for coverage on Wednesdays and Fridays. You would also have the opportunity to work in one of our other departments if seeking a full time position.
