Oracle Assistant Research Analyst – Epi/HEOR Data Scientist Intern (F/N/M) in PARIS, France

Job Description

Oracle Life Sciences has a vacancy for a Data Scientist internship position with interest and/or knowledge in healthcare and research/data sciences, and in the AI field. Reporting to a Project Manager, you will work primarily on international quantitative healthcare related studies, as well as internal projects.

Committed to client service and research excellence, you will be expected to support the project team to deliver on client requests. To be successful, you will, in conjunction with the project team, be fully involved in all the stages of research studies, from the study set up to the final delivery/report and will be a key player in the data programming and the biostatistical analysis of the study results.

You will have the opportunity to go beyond local data and work on data analysis in studies with one or multiple existing data sources across all continents.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a master’s program in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python or R and familiarity with data science libraries like Pandas, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow. Experience with database management (SQL, PL/SQL, NoSQL, Java) and cloud-based automation tools (preferably Oracle Cloud). Strong interest or some knowledge in AI

  • Data Analysis: Strong ability to handle large datasets, with keen attention to detail in data cleaning and exploration.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex data findings to non-technical audiences in English.

  • Proactivity and Independence: Ability to work autonomously and take initiative under the supervision of a line manager, while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Team player.

  • A knowledge of statistical and data management/analysis software (SAS, R) will be a plus.

  • Fluency in English C1 minimum.

  • Any experience or significant interest towards the healthcare sector or pharma industry would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support to Project Teams: Assist project teams in achieving their objectives by providing analytical and technical support.

  • Task Automation: Develop and implement automation solutions to optimize internal processes. Work with project managers and team leaders to identify repetitive tasks and propose automated solutions to enhance efficiency.

  • Development and Training of AI Models: Under the supervision of the manager, design and train AI models for health data analysis. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to integrate AI into work processes and meet the evolving needs of our clients.

KEY OUTCOMES

Support to Project Teams

Runs, under the supervision of a Research Analyst and/or a Project Manager, the management of healthcare research studies, from set up to final report and presentation to end clients.

  • Good writing skills.

  • Performs data quality checks to verify accuracy.

  • Checking questionnaires links checking to ensure quality, instructions monitoring and consistency.

  • Discusses report design and analysis axes with Project team and be in charge of the design of report template and the final report.

  • Performs the data programming and biostatistical analysis of the study results and/or interacts with Data processing suppliers to ascertain analysis required for the clients are fully implemented and accurate.

  • Commits to enhancing skills and knowledge and seeks to expand level of responsibilities.

  • Possesses a strong ability to organize self-planning, to multitasking and ability to work with different teams.

  • Ease with Microsoft pack (Excel, PPT).

  • Interest in data/numbers/figures.

  • Inquisitive minded, meticulous, conscientious, and committed to client service and research excellence.

Task Automation

Under the supervision of the Line Manager:

  • Identify time-consuming and repetitive tasks within project workflows through discussions with project teams.

  • Design and develop automation scripts and tools using programming languages such as Python or R, or by programming chatbots on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

  • Implement and test these automation solutions within the project environment to ensure they function as intended.

  • Monitor and refine the effectiveness of automation systems post-deployment to further optimize operational efficiency.

Development of AI and Machine Learning Models

Under the supervision of the Line Manager:

  • Collaborate with SMEs to define clear objectives for AI and machine learning applications within projects.

  • Develop and train machine learning models, including but not limited to regression models, classification models, and neural networks, etc., to address specific research questions.

  • Evaluate the performance of AI models using appropriate validation techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability.

  • Integrate AI models into existing project workflows to enhance decision-making and predictive analytics capabilities.
