Security Technician

BBandE is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BBandE team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BBandE is currently looking for aSecurity Techniciantosupportthe325th Security Forces Squadron onsite at Tyndall AFB, FL.

JobDuties andResponsibilities

• Interact throughout the duty day with thegeneral public, drivers of commercial deliveries, anda large number ofconstruction contractors requiring access to Tyndall AFB, FL.
• Enter base visitor request information into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer system to perform security background investigation checks for all visitors requesting a pass from the Visitor Control Center (VCC) and the Tyndall Commercial Vehicle Entry Gate (Cleveland Gate)

KeyQualifications

• U.S. Citizenship
• Successful completion of a T-1 Trustworthiness background check for a Common Access Card (CAC), or the ability to obtain one
• Prior knowledge and experience handling Base Pass and ID requirements for construction and contractor personnel, thegeneral public, and commercial delivery driversisdesired
• Ability toquickly and accurately interpret resultsfrom NCIC security background reportsin order toidentifyapplicantsdeemedunfavorable for access
• Prior work experience interacting with thegeneral publicand/or similar security-related workisdesired
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow direction from management
• Good computer typing skills
• Motivated self-starter

Experienceand Education

• Minimum one (1) year of related experienceisrequired
• Minimum High School Diplomaisrequired

Physical Requirements

• Mustbe abletoremainin a stationary position at least 60% of the time
• Abletooperateoffice equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
• Able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Capable oflifting upto 25lbs.
• Can speak clearly so listeners can understand; can understand the speech of another person; can talk or hear both in person and by telephone
• Abletostand/sit/walk/kneel/crouch and reach
