Job Role and Responsibility:

  • You provide support on existing EMC data protection products: EMC Networker, Avamar, DataDomain, and Data Protection Advisor

  • Support and administer EMC NetWorker software related to applications (SAP, ORACLE, SQL and exchange), configuration, deployment and troubleshooting.

  • You provide day-to-day operational support, administration activities and mentorship on the management and use of the data protection environment based on standard procedures.

  • Performance monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity monitoring of backup infrastructure.

  • You perform configuration, layout, and performance tuning of data protection infrastructure.

  • Provide recommendations for efficiency in backup and restore processes resulting in cost reduction and increased value.

  • You assist in improving IT backup operations such as email, backup, recovery and archival processes; and support of databases and file systems with validated standard methodologies.

  • You participate in the continual review and improvement of existing operational policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

  • 5-7 years of operational experience with backup focus.

  • You are an expert with EMC Networker, Avamar, Data Domain, and Data Protection Advisor

  • Operational experience with EMC NetWorker software related to applications (SAP, ORACLE, SQL and exchange), configuration and deployment.

  • Proficiency with various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and vSphere

  • You are a professional Specialist Level Certification

  • You have a proven technical background in industry standard IT technologies as it pertains to backup solutions. You have the proven capability to implement and support complex environments

  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of network/hardware/software subject matter.

  • Ability to work in a multi-functional role spanning many disciplines at a customer site.
