Amazon Principal Product Manager-Tech, Visual Shopping in Palo Alto, California

Description

Amazon’s Visual Shopping solutions help customers shop with confidence using visual aids such as videos, Augmented Reality (AR), camera and more. As a Principal Product Manager on the team, you will partner with a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, designers, analysts, and other internal partners to build and grow our videos initiative. Our customers increasingly rely on videos to help them decide which products to buy. We envision a world where Amazon customers can type any shopping query in Search and quickly get relevant product videos from trustworthy sources that answer the specific question.

Customers will see content more relevant to their shopping mission because we will select and rank videos based on customer intent, specific customer interest, and the video’s propensity to influence a purchase decision. As result, we expect to drive a more efficient overall shopping journey for our customers.

We are looking for an exceptional, self-motivated product leader who wants to work on core product management problems. The Principal Product Manager will create and lead the roadmap for product videos in Search. You will drive product thinking from strategy to feature definition, UX design, implementation, and metrics-driven iteration. You will work with engineering and design teams to create and deliver the product roadmap, partner across Amazon to deliver results, and gain leadership buy in and trust. You will define the goals for overall product success and create mechanisms to track delivery of these goals.

To succeed, you will need to be creative, agile, and obsessed with how customers shop for their home, and how videos can help them in their shopping missions. You will also need to be highly data driven, but have the experience and judgment to know when and where to apply data. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical and product management background, clear written and spoken communication, and a passion for designing and shipping customer-facing products that will be used by millions of people every day. This is the perfect opportunity for somebody who demonstrates a strong bias-for-action and enjoys a creative environment, a record of on-time delivery of large-scale projects and prefers owning projects from end to end.

Key job responsibilities

This product leader will drive the north star vision for how we enable customers to shop with more confidence using videos. Core responsibilities include

1) Owning the customer experience and relevance on videos to make it more discoverable and usable in Search.

2) Owning the 2023 (and beyond) goal for this new initiative.

3) Creating alignment with stakeholders and leaders to move the overall program forward.

4) Identify and track metrics for success.

5) Create and run mechanisms for all aspects of the product lifecycle - from concept to launch and beyond.
