Division Description

The ITW GSE Division is an industry leading manufacturer of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to the aviation industry.

Core customers are Airports and Airlines in all countries around the World.

Core products are Power Supply Units for aircraft parked on the ground.

Organizationally ITW GSE is part of the Specialty Products Segment of Illinois Tool Works (ITW).

This position is responsible for material (parts) replenishment and management in excess of $35M per year in spend. This role will ensure part availability (using optimum inventory based on Kanban/MRD) to enable on time delivery to both internal and external customers. Responsible for understanding business sourcing needs and identifying and evaluating the best suppliers that meet business standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize MRD/Kanban systems in the process of planning and inventory management.

  • Responsible to purchase materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures and optimizes price, delivery, and terms.

  • Recommend inventory levels to support the demand forecast and analyze the impact of varying demand and supply scenarios to ensure supply meets monthly and quarterly shipment targets.

  • Not heavily involved in development of specifications, but work is more complex than buying "off-the-shelf" items.

  • Review forecasts with key stakeholders (NPI, Production and Procurement), integrating feedback and ensuring forecast alignment.

  • Assists in identifying potential suppliers and issues requests for quotations. Analyzes and selects suppliers and issues purchase orders; follows-up and expedites as necessary. Investigates and qualifies suppliers.

  • Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.

  • Day-to-day monitoring of inventory levels to ensure deliver performance, vendor contractual obligations are met, and inventory levels are within range.

  • Perform administrative tasks such as investigative inventory discrepancies, invoice verifications and resolution of receipts.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 2 to 5 years of purchasing experience

  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving

  • Highly Skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word)

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and results oriented

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP

  • Bachelor degree in relevant (operations, business) field.
