Job Title: Milling Machine Machinist

Job Type: Full-time; 12-month contract

Schedule: Onsite, Monday - Thursday, 4x10 shifts (must be open to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shifts)

Location: Palmdale, CA 93550

Pay Rate: $28.12-$30.32 per hour

About the Role:

Take your machining skills to the next level! As a Milling Machine Machinist 1, you'll set up and operate milling machines to perform high-precision machining operations. This includes cutting gears, boring holes, and more. You'll interpret blueprints and engineering specs, plan sequences of operations, and ensure precision in every task.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate horizontal or vertical milling machines

• Perform complex machining operations, including compound angles, boring angular holes, helical and spiral milling, and gear cutting

• Use specialized machine attachments and tooling

• Plan operations, set speeds, feeds, and depth of cuts

• Interpret blueprints and engineering specs

• Utilize machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments

• Perform quality checks according to control procedures

Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience

• Expertise in setting up and operating milling machines

• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and engineering specifications

Pay Details: $28.12 to $30.32 per hour
