Position Specific Description

The Production Manager I will ensure all growth of new Solar and Energy Storage utility scale assets in Florida Power & Light are ready for commercial operations to achieve all key performance indicators. Employee will lead the safe operations of new Solar & Energy Storage sites from 9 months before commercial operations to turnover to Operations.

The position will report directly to the Vice President - Renewable Operations Integration. In this role, you will lead the safe operations of each site which includes hiring, training personnel, developing operating procedures, setting up compliance standards, and warranty tracking for the seamless turnover to Operations.

The Production Manager I will possess:

  • Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills

  • Solid technical background and field services experience

  • Ability to manage multiple complicated tasks and achieve flawless execution

  • Six Sigma skills or equivalent quality skills

  • Ability to develop and oversee budget and inventory controls

  • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Superior organizational, time management and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain a valid passport

  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain a world-class safety culture

  • Ensure environmental compliance

  • Provide leadership in all aspects of operations and maintenance

  • Resolve technical issues by working collaboratively with OEMs, Engineering & Construction and Engineering & Operations Support Services teams

  • Ensure timely warranty process adhere

  • Support the development and management of site and fleet budget processes

  • Ensure project financials target are met

  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and policies

  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements for all sites

  • Manage all personnel training and development

  • Oversee customer and landowner relations

  • Support renewables recruiting hiring strategy

  • Support development strategy

  • Interface with community leaders, regulatory agencies, equipment manufacturers, and local agencies as required

  • Develop KPIs to ensure the sites are meeting or exceeding operational standards

  • Support the development of O&M budgets

  • Ensures all budget targets are met

  • Collaborate with peers, stake holders, central organizations support team, vendors and OEMs for the furtherance of organizations goals

  • Ensures all safety, environmental, performance, and reliability targets are met

  • Develop and grow the team/business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred) from an accredited university or college

  • Experience: 7+ years in engineering and/or the solar and energy storage project construction and field operations

  • Professional Engineer license

This job leads a team involved in operating a power plant. Under limited direction, leaders in this role manage all aspects of site business and operations, achieving all production and business targets while maintaining an injury-free work site.
