As our DevOps Support Engineer , you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Collaborating with development, QA, and operations teams to provide customer support and resolve issues related to CI/CD pipelines.

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure for customer networks and internal demo environments to ensure reliable and scalable applications.

  • Developing, maintaining, and optimizing installation scripts tailored to customer network hosts and internal demo environments, facilitating automated deployments.

  • Automate infrastructure management tasks using configuration management tools.

  • Monitoring and analyzing application performance in customer networks and internal demo environments, proactively identifying issues and optimizing for efficiency and security.

  • Collaborating with development, QA, and operations teams to provide customer support and resolve issues related to CI/CD pipelines.

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure for customer networks and internal demo environments to ensure reliable and scalable applications.

  • Developing, maintaining, and optimizing installation scripts tailored to customer network hosts and internal demo environments, facilitating automated deployments.

  • Automate infrastructure management tasks using configuration management tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.

  • Monitoring and analyzing application performance in customer networks and internal demo environments, proactively identifying issues and optimizing for efficiency and security.

  • This role serves as part of the customer engagement team, contributing to the technical aspects of the customer engagement.

  • Ideal candidate must have the ability to prepare proposal documentation for large and complex projects involving system integration.

  • The individual needs to be able to interpret complex customer requirements and work closely with regional sales, product managers and systems teams to offer solutions that maximize value for the customer.

  • The individual will cooperate with and support Sales with technical information that is needed to respond to requests for quotes, tenders and requests for information.

  • Working with other functional teams, including Product Management, Operations, Services and Engineering to architect, build, validate and document biometric leading solutions for partners and customers.

  • Assessing project requirements and influence solution design and decision-making processes to help drive robust, advanced solutions that are deliverable by HID field implementation teams on customer sites.

  • Advising customers by identifying their problems and needs while taking into consideration the potential for tailoring HID offerings to meet customer requirements.

  • Providing technical consulting using best practices for the design and deployment of solutions to HID Sales, Partners, and Customers.

  • Providing technical consultation and written content as part of an RFI and RFP response team

  • Obtaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

    What we will love about your background:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar role in a biometric company. Excellent Requirements Analysis, Software Requirements gathering.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability and experience to creatively engineer a solution to solve customer problems.

  • Problem solving, with a focus on selling to customer needs.

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Support Engineer or in a similar role, with customer-facing responsibilities.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Understanding of enterprise computer networking standards.

  • Basic technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows Server platforms as well as Linux. Practical understanding of Networking architectures, routers, hubs, and transmission protocols such as (TCP/IP, FTP, NFS, SMTP).

  • Knowledge of Active Directory

  • Experience with container orchestration and management, particularly with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Good understanding of cloud computing or services which relate to software, platforms and infrastructure that are sold "as a service", and capable of keeping up with technology trends

  • Good understanding of Encryption standards (VPN/TLS/SSL), FIPS 140-2 Standards.

  • Good understanding of relational database offerings and customer usage such as Microsoft SQL, My SQL, Postgres.

  • Good understanding of Cloud architectures offerings to assess customer implementation

  • Able to organize and manage projects and numerous tasks and initiatives simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and capable of self-taught new concepts

  • Experience in deploying web-based applications in a Gov Cloud AWS environment

    Your Experience and Education include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields of computer information system is required

  • Master’s degree desirable, not required, and Technical Certifications are a plus

  • Candidates with equivalent education plus relevant job experience may also be considered

  • Minimum 7-years of technical experience with technical sales delivering solution requirements definition, design, and problem resolution

  • Experience with statements of work and technical proposals

  • Experience and understanding of software solutions and professional services offerings

  • Experience with working as a liaison between Sales and an Engineering team

  • Experience with fingerprint or other biometric solutions is desired

  • Experience with collaborating on creating cross functional process within the organization

  • Able to manage technical solutions by performing basic project management functions and providing meeting minutes and action items

  • Experience in Enterprise level solutions from the design, engineering and understanding of complex deployments across distributed systems
