The Senior Technical Sales Representative is a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication, presentation, and troubleshooting skills who is adept at navigating high pressure situations. He/she has a strong background in IT sales, consulting and deployment. He/she is expected to be able to interface intelligently and effectively with members of the user community in the business areas that he/she supports. Business and systems analytical skills must be developed at this level. Customer facing role with good empathy with difficult customer issues, as well as the ability to navigate challenging social, territorial and organizational situations in hospital environments and throughout the sales organization.

This role covers the Northeast region which includes all of New England, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Delaware. The travel is estimated to be 25-30% and includes some overnight travel.

A Day in the Life

  • Interfaces with sales and the customer to consult on solution design, including infrastructure, connectivity and workflow

  • Leads technical discussion in sales process AND proactively engages IT stakeholder throughout customer lifecycle (point of entry) Presales through implementation to support

  • Technical thought leadership and voice of customer of product solutions and infrastructure

  • Owns creation, design and future technical vision of customer solution for success

  • Identifies opportunities and drives expansion and market share gain

  • Develops technical design best practices to ensure supportability, adoption and product usage for Go Live & Lifecycle

  • Oversees all technological risks and make sure that the solution proves to be consistent while meeting all the necessary requirements

  • Drives lessons learned, ensures documentation and quality processes

  • Engages hospitals IT staff getting them involved in the process (owns technical relationship)

  • Understands the competitive landscape, gathers intel and recommends response & differentiators

  • Provides technical expertise to sales representatives, other sales functions and customers.

  • Provides technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products.

  • May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by providing technical support and information on specific applications.

  • Provides sales personnel with technical data necessary for the demonstration of products.

  • May make technical or scientific presentations at sales meetings and customer locations.

  • Conducts on-site education and consulting, and supports establishment and maintenance of customer relations with healthcare professionals and organizations.

  • Acts as a liaison between sales personnel and technical staff.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 4 years of sales engineering experience or hospital implementation, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Emphasis on interacting with customers and deploying technology in a customer environment, with a strong preference for hospital experience.

  • Technical proficiency - has extensive working experience with required technologies and can handle advanced, complex tasks; typically has over 3 years of experience with required technologies

  • Analytical abilities – has advanced problem-solving skills including very difficult and time-sensitive problems where erroneous decisions could have a significant adverse impact daily operations

  • Business knowledge – has advanced problem-solving skills including very difficult and time-sensitive problems where erroneous decisions could have a significant adverse impact daily operations

  • Project management – Can manage intermediate projects effectively requiring coordination with users & IT personnel across multiple teams

  • Independence – Needs only general direction to perform job duties

  • Communication skills – Strong verbal & written skills. Communications are complete and understandable with appropriate tone and delivery.

  • Quality - Makes good decisions & designs solid solutions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience & judgment. Can accurately estimate time, resources and costs for assigned projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to deeply understand and troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity issues, and have demonstrated experience in LAN and WLAN networking

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):140,000.00 - 145,000.00

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals. Learn more about total rewards here.
