Job Description Summary
The Communications Coordinator for Student Health and Wellness will develop and implement effective communication and student engagement strategies for mental health initiatives, campus services, and wellness resources. This role focuses on elevating awareness, understanding, and perception of mental health resources among students, families, community partners, and faculty/staff and making our culture of care more visible. The ideal candidate will contribute to building trust and confidence in our commitment to student health and wellness and the resources and services available. This 10-month position is a member of the Division of Student Life team and reports to the Director of Communications for Student Life.
Job Description
The Communications Coordinator for Student Health and Wellness will develop and implement effective communication and student engagement strategies for mental health initiatives, campus services, and wellness resources. This 10-month position is a member of the Division of Student Life team and reports to the Director of Communications for Student Life.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement communication strategies to promote student campus mental health and wellness resources (e.g., CARE Team, HOPE Line, Wellness Navigator, Welltrack Boost, blog, health and wellness funds, annual student health survey, etc.) to students, families, faculty, and staff.
Create engaging prosocial content and campaigns related to mental health and well-being for various platforms, including newsletters, the Miami Family Connection, social media, signage, print materials, etc.
Coordinate a calendar of wellness messaging, in partnership with the university Committee for Mental Health and Well-being, that follows the flow of the academic calendar and associated stressors, engagement opportunities, and health-specific university requirements (i.e., immunizations, student health insurance, module completion, etc.).
Serve as web editor, reviewer, and publisher for university and departmental websites related to health and well-being, including the Wellness Navigator.
Manage communication projects relevant to health and well-being and collaborate with the Office of Student Wellness, Student Health Services, Student Counseling Service, and the university's representative for student health insurance to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
