POSITION SUMMARY:#Under the supervision of an RN, the Operating Room Technician (ORT) participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team.# Performs direct and indirect perioperative nursing tasks for patients undergoing surgical, surgically related, or endoscopic procedures. Provides care to all assigned patients in the operating room, PACU and outpatient surgery. Is responsible for meeting the established Surgical Standards of Nursing Practice. Included in this assignment is the responsibility to assist in the timely coordination of adequate levels of supplies and equipment to perform safe preoperative care.# Ensures effective communication between him or herself, the patient, staff, supervision, physicians, and other hospital departments.# Processes information on the hospital#s health information system as required in performing job responsibilities. Assist in Central Sterile as needed.### ################ ################ ############### # MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:#High School diploma or GED, BCLS certificate.# Prior experience as an#ORT preferred, military experience is acceptable.# Possesses a valid driver#s license.# Computer experience is desirable.
