Purpose of the job:
The Laboratory Support Associate (SLA), at our life sciences client site in Oxford is a key role within our team. Reporting to the CBRE Cluster Lead, you’ll be a highly organised and dynamic individual and will work closely with the CBRE/client team to provide critical support to ensure everything runs smoothly and seamlessly within the laboratories.
This role resolves facility and service issues in both office and lab settings to include;
Key Responsibilities:
Lab Operations
Ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the Labs on a day to day basis
Conducting regular lab walkthroughs, identifying safety, security, operational inefficiencies, and other area of improvements
Managing inventory in all on-site storage rooms (including lab equipment/supplies, lab casework, office furniture and supplies)
General lab tasks to support the daily lab functions.
Lab Porterage
Facilitate waste management.
Cleaning of lab equipment
Vendor Managed Inventory & Consumables stock control.
Glass wash, Lab autoclave and sterilisation operations under direction of client processes
Managing the Vendor process the LAMP equipment programme, scheduling vendor equipment visits
Be the LAMP Champion for CBRE/client team
Raising PO’s and reconciling invoices
Initiating Lab Management Operational processes for continual improvement
Attend regular client and CBRE management meetings
Health, Safety & Compliance
Coordination with security for access control, CCTV and adherence to company security requirements
Compliance with company compliance policies, health and safety campaigns and audits
Creating and reviewing risk assessments, reviewing, and updating COSHH documents relating to CBRE laboratory services
Required skills and experience:
Experience in a similar role and with a passion for employee experience
A team player who understands the value of cooperative and collaborative work environment
A professional demeanor with Excellent communication skill at all levels
Solutions focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Experience with EH&S legislation practices (an EH&S qualification such as NEBOSH would be desirable)
Proven track record of successfully managing Lab based services in Research environments.
This role is based full time on site with one direct report and the potential to grow and lead a team.
