The Coordinator, Workforce Recruitment works from the WKU in Owensboro campus and additionally serves an important role with all WKU Regional Campuses which includes occasional travel to those sites. The position collaborates with businesses, non-profits, and government organizations to recruit adult learners to complete college degrees simultaneous with participation in the workforce. This position reports to the Director, Regional Campuses.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

  • Collaborate with employers across the regional campuses service region to recruit adult learners to complete college degrees simultaneous with workforce participation.

  • Identify companies/organizations that provide tuition assistance, waivers, or scholarships and carry out recruitment outreach.

  • Conduct pre-advising during recruitment events to help guide prospective students to potential degree fits.

  • Coordinate and lead presentations to local businesses and organizations and their employees.

  • Routinely attend and network at major Chamber of Commerce events in Regional Campus communities and organize WKU Regional Campuses' annual sponsored events.

  • Collaborate with company leadership to identify workforce needs and create pipelines to supply these needs with WKU graduates.

  • Represents WKU Regional Campuses at career fairs.

  • Establish company-sponsored scholarships for WKU students.

  • Collaborate with business and workforce agencies on internship and career placement opportunities.

  • Serve as a member of the WKU in Owensboro staff and contribute as team member to campus functions.

  • Serve on the task force leadership team and engage with the regional campus communities as a WKU representative.

    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Strong presentation and networking skills in diverse professional settings

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and be highly organized and adaptable

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to off-site locations

    Additional Information:

Salary: $19.49/hr
