    The starting wage for this role is $22.38 per hour. This position may also be eligible for a shift differential and/or overtime. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).

What You'll Do:

Responsible for the testing and documentation of all analytical and microbiological evaluations. Learn all procedures for testing raw and finished products used and sold at the plant. Understand the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Communicate quality concerns to production.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct all testing of product, in an accurate and professional way.

  • Record all test results in SAP in a fashion to which the QualityDepartment, Production Supervisor and all Plant Employees can review product testing without question.

  • Work in cooperation with production, management, and the other Laboratory Technicians to help them monitor all production.

  • Keep lab neat, clean, safe and orderly (which includes washing of all glassware/labware).

  • Accurately complete all necessary tests on product in a timely manner.

  • Notify all relevant parties (Production Supervisor, Fluid Operator or Dryer Operator) of any non-conforming product that is being made.

  • Any special products that are requested by the Food Safety and Quality Manager or QA Supervisor.

  • Notify either the Maintenance Planner or QA Supervisor as to when chemicals or supplies are needed.

  • Run controls on all lab equipment (in use) and lab machinery to insure correct results.

  • Maintain all relevant paperwork/records.

  • Notify the QA Supervisor of any issues occurring in the lab that needs to be dealt with.

  • Work efficiently with minimal overtime.

  • Must comply with all plant rules, GMPs and GLPs.

  • The cleaning and autoclaving of all sampling scoops.

  • Any additional duties as directed by the Supervisor/Manager.

What You'll need to be Successful and Safe:

  • A minimum completion of a 2 year post high school program in food technology, quality science, chemistry, microbiology, or other relevant field or experience working in a laboratory in a related field.

  • An ability to understand written and verbal communications

  • An ability to work in proximity with other people

  • An ability to do precise and accurate work using sensitive, delicate, and expensive equipment

  • Basic computer skills, and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
