Crown Cork & Seal TRAINING SPECIALIST | MON - FRI | DAYS | $29 - $31 PER HOUR in Owatonna, Minnesota
Position Overview: This hourly role is responsible for assessing the training needs of production staff, designing and delivering training programs, and ensuring that all employees are equipped with the skills necessary to meet operational standards. This position will also play a key role in improving plant performance based on audit outcomes and implementing best practices through Visual Work Instructions (VWI) and One Point Lessons (OPL). Duties And Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the Training Specialist responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following: Develop and maintain Visual Work Instructions (VWI) and One Point Lessons (OPL) for all production roles, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and easy to follow. Develop and maintain a comprehensive training matrix to track employee competencies and cross-training, helping leaders schedule the workforce effectively and ensure employees are trained for multiple roles. Evaluate training needs for production staff and implement effective training interventions based on identified gaps. Conduct orientation sessions for new hires, ensuring they understand company policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Analyze SQF (Safe Quality Food) audit results, identify areas for improvement, and design targeted training solutions to improve audit scores and overall quality compliance. Facilitate and design training sessions to develop employee skills and increase operational efficiency. Collaborate with production supervisors and management to ensure alignment of training programs with operational goals. Monitor the effectiveness of training programs by gathering feedback and conducting post-training evaluations. Keep up to date with the latest training trends and techniques to continuously improve the learning experience for all employees. Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma/GED Equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to create clear, comprehensive VWIs and OPLs. Experience with training design and delivery (in front of groups of people), with a focus on employee development in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of SQF audit processes and the ability to recommend training interventions based on audit results. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain rapport with team members at all levels. Ability to assess training needs and develop customized training solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or other relevant software for documentation and presentations. Skilled in safeguarding sensitive information. Preferred Requirements Certification in Training and Development or related field. Experience in instructional design or adult learning principles. Bilingual a plus (Spanish or Somali).
