Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Radiologist and under the supervision of the Director and Manager of Radiology, performs direct patient care as needed. Functions in direct cooperation with physicians and other radiology personnel. Demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique and practices Universal Precautions. Performs associated duties, i.e. patient care duties, and when necessary assembling all associated paperwork to provide to radiologist for review and interpretation.

What you will do in this role:

  • Responsible for ensuring mammographers maintain QA records, tests and audits.

  • Complete and post schedule in timely manner (minimum of two weeks) to ensure consistent and appropriate coverage for beast center staff.

  • Ensure that schedule has appropriate coverage to run the rooms on a daily basis.

  • Communicate with physicians about cases in timely manner.

  • Responsible for the coordination of orientation and training for new breast center employees.

  • Works with manager or director as necessary to ensure that the breast center daily operations are managed appropriately.

  • Provides input for annual staff performance evaluations, department meetings, and huddles.

  • Helps promote the breast center.

  • Exhibits and model consistent to 5 Star behavior.

  • Assures all supplies as necessary for cases are ordered appropriately, manages inventory

  • Manage checklists for annual competency for all breast center staff.

  • Provides input into the selection of personnel and equipment.

  • Work with radiologist/physicians on add on procedures, patient issue resolution, physician/patient satisfaction and follow up as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need

  • Minimum of two (2) year of work-related experience in related field with some leadership experience

  • Graduate of an accredited program by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), American Medical Association (AMA) or other accrediting agencies.

  • certification in good standing with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) and/or Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS)

  • Knowledge of radiology operations (hospital and outpatient).

  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. Must be flexible and self-motivated.

  • Team builder and player with the ability to interact with patients, physicians, and personnel in a pleasant, positive and courteous manner.
