Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week

Pay Range: \$47,300.00-\$61,200.00 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Create innovative, on-brand marketing copy for use in paid, owned, shared, earned, and internal communications and marketing executions for Johnson County Community College (JCCC) activities, programs, and its affiliates.

Required Qualifications:

  • Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline.
  • Conducts complex, important work under moderate supervision and with some latitude for independent judgment.
  • Requires a bachelor\'s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Translate complex messages into compelling, engaging copy that is interesting, relatable, accurate, and timely in a way that drives engagement and motivates action.
  • Create clear and concise content for internal and external advertising, marketing, promotional campaigns, and collateral. Make revisions, updates, and changes to copy.
  • Develop copy that may be used on websites, newsletters, emails, brochures, catalogs, and other digital and printed materials.
  • Produce copy while conducting work with a moderate degree of autonomy. Provide collegial guidance and feedback to interns and junior copywriters.
  • Craft website content that uses high-value keywords to support organic search and bolster SEO on JCCC\'s primary websites and intranet.
  • Research assigned topics as required by departmental and cross-campus requests. With supervision as needed, distills results of research into effective content.
  • Collaborate closely with departmental and cross-campus colleagues and stakeholders to understand marketing requests so that resulting copy meets expectations and solves presented problems.
  • Support other writers in the department by reviewing and editing content for clarity and to align with established brand voice. Maintain consistency for the JCCC brand and unified presence across all marketing projects.
  • Through training opportunities, remain up-to-date on the changing digital universe and the latest industry best practices, tends, and advancements.
  • Translate constructive feedback into refined copy and improved deliverables.
