THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a member of our People team, you will be involved with all aspects of the Human Resources function including maintaining HRIS and records, assisting with the preparation of payroll, administering benefits, and supporting recruitment activities. WHAT YOU WILL DO  

  • Manage and maintain both digital and paper-based records to:

  • Enable the People team to readily access documentation.

  • Ensure privacy and legislative compliance.

  • Prepare for audit requirements.

  • Coordinate updates for payroll; work closely with the People Team and Finance to communicate twice-monthly payroll changes and to play an active role in improving processes through the adoption of digital improvements.

  • Administer Canadian benefits and act as the liaison between our benefit providers, employees and internal teams as needed.

  • Assist with onboarding employees in the form of seating plan, workstation setup, shipment of new hire packages, and new hire orientations.

  • Assist with the updating and maintenance of human resources policies.

  • Assist with facilitating employee programs and People team initiatives.

  • Support general employee relations but respond to inquiries and escalate issues as required.

  • Provide other employee HR program support as time allows.

     

    WHO YOU ARE  

  • University or college level degree, preferably with an HR or with a business focus.

  • An intuitive nature and ability to understand people.

  • Strong interest in improving efficiencies through use of technology.

  • Experience in an office environment; MS Office Suite and other office productivity software.

  • A desire to solve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a great sense of humour.

  • Attention to detail; enjoys keeping everything in order.

  • Willing to try new approaches and learn from mistakes.

  • Ability to work remotely and collaboratively across all levels in the organization.

    As part of the recruitment process for this position, you will be required to submit your latest citizenship and/or permanent residency information. This information will be used to comply with U.S. Export Control Laws and Regulations.
