Job Description

Position Overview: The Accounts Payable (AP) Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the AP team and ensuring the efficient processing of all accounts payable transactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of AP processes. This role requires excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the AP team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.

  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to accounts payable transactions.

  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the AP department.

  • Prepare and analyze AP reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any payment-related inquiries or disputes.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

  • Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes as required.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in accounts payable management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or inventory purchase experience; 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.

  • Strong understanding of AP processes, policies, and procedures.

  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
