Orofino is centrally poised to access and play in an outdoor community full of adventurous opportunities. State Hospital North is a 55-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital dedicated to treating individuals with mental health needs.

 Any applicant offered employment in this position at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the investigation.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Performs heavy-duty cleaning in bedrooms, conference rooms, and lavatories, etc.

  • Cleans, sanitizes and polishes bath, lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures.

  • Dusts, washes, sponge mops; sanitizes furniture, woodwork, walls, windows, and glass items.

  • Cleans shades and covers on light fixtures.

  • Removes waste and debris from areas.

  • Selects products and compounds for cleaning jobs; measures and mixes compounds, disinfectants, and sanitizing agents and applies according to procedures or manufacturers’ specifications.

  • Orders supplies for custodial closets and stocks with paper products, cleaning compounds and similar items

  • Equipment operation/security typical duties:

  • Operates heavy-duty scrubbing, buffing, shampooing, vacuuming, and wet/dry pickup equipment.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment.

  • Finishes floors using sanders, strippers, and final finishers.

  • Uses dollies and carts.

  • Replaces belts, brushes, and bearings in power equipment.

  • Ensures that floors and building areas are cleaned and sanitized.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willing to be trained and are physically able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following activities: operate power cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers and vacuum cleaners; clean restrooms, bath facilities, locker rooms, swimming pools, and similar facilities; move tables, chairs, and other heavy items; service/maintain equipment used in custodial work.
