    Overview

    The Merchandising Specialist is responsible for being the product expert and champion of a specific product line at Chadwell Supply, overseeing all merchandising for the HVAC channel. They work closely with other Marketing personnel, Purchasing, Renovations, and Sales to ensure that products are presented accurately, effectively, and promoted so customers have the right information for buying decisions. The Merchandising Specialist typically has a wide range of responsibilities, including developing promotional campaigns, highlighting specific items or trends, and coordinating with purchasing to have the right product in the right place to increase sales.

    What you will need

  • Must have extensive HVAC knowledge required.

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • 3+ years of sales and/or product marketing experience.

    How you will make an impact

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for lines of business assigned.

  • Increase incremental product line sales and bottom-line profit through effective marketing promotion and pricing strategies.

  • Manage new product introduction to field sales and online customers.

  • Monitor sales and identify any opportunities to increase sales and profit.

  • Work with suppliers to add new products, manage promotions, reduce overstock, and aid in product disposal.

  • Collaborate with the Pricing Analyst to set prices that are good for the market and profit.

  • Get to know the customer base and understand their motivation and sales drivers.

  • Review customer feedback to predict sales trends and seasonal stock demand.

  • Research and monitor industry trends and consumer behavior to anticipate demand and changes in buying patterns.

  • Assess the effectiveness of different product displays, catalog positioning, flyers, digital channels, and spiffs.

  • Work with the Pricing Analyst in reviewing competitor product offerings and opportunities for new products.
