Siemens Energy Senior Bid Manager for H2 projects in Orlando, Florida

Our Proposal Project Managers in the new built Hydrogen & P2X business keeps the multi functional team on track and oversees the development, preparation and negotiation of high quality, competitive and innovative offers which distinguishes us favorably from our competition, and win new business for Siemens Energy.

In this role, you will be responsible for complete bid project objectives for a prospect project opportunity including the optimized technical concept, cost calculation, identification of risks & opportunities, schedule with quality while managing the allocated proposal budget.

You will also technically direct, lead and motivate your multi-functional project team to deliver a professional offer that can effectively be transferred into a contract and ultimately be implemented.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Responsible for supporting sales organizations in the development of pure H2 and P2X (e.g. Ammonia/ Methanol) opportunities in the areas of interest of SES (Sustainable Energy System) and keeping management informed of such opportunities

  • You plan, prepare, and issue high quality bids that align with customer expectations.

  • Lead the bid preparation with a temporarily assigned multi-functional team of experts as entrepreneur for respective project opportunities.

  • The Bid Manager exhibits high level of commitment, professional knowledge and motivation in coordinating the proposal team, with the objective of innovative, high-value, competitive, quality-assured proposals that have a sharp customer-focus

  • You will support the definition of the adequate business model and the respective negotiations for the collaboration with Regional Units, Business Units and external partners

  • You support the winning strategy and optimize the overall project with a well-rounded view

  • You identify and evaluate customer requirements in RfQs or RfIs and manage development of the system configuration

  • You establish offer documents, the integration of customer specifics therein and you coordinate the contribution of key roles supporting the offer

  • Lead the bid and support the negotiation phase within the determined boundaries in time, cost and quality while collaborating with all relevant internal disciples to achieve this.

  • You continuously challenge identified risks, costs and opportunities with team members, from bid until handover to execution team

  • Engages in understanding the global and regional energy transition pertaining to our business and the business of our customers. Maintains engagement and keeps up to date with industry and regulatory developments and business opportunities which are in the scope of SES.

In the team, you will as well take on a key role in managing specific concerns of our offerings in the Americas region, i.e. in terms of resource allocation/alignments, addressing general issues and challenges identified in Americas bids etc.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering.

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in e.g. handling proposals, sales, execution, commissioning directly related to the Energy & Power Generation industry, Hydrogen Industry or in similar industrial projects. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.

  • During this time you gained experience in leading teams as well as in customer and contractor negotiations

  • You have good overall technical knowledge within the energy industry and understand the role of various technologies in the decarbonization of this industry. You have a good overall grasp of the technologies and equipment offered by Siemens Energy.

  • You have an understanding of the commercial drivers which facilitate a projects implementation and success including project execution risks. Understanding the contributors to nonconformance costs, delays and techno/economic challenges in an industrial large scale project business.

  • You have customer facing experience and are instrumental in developing relationships, with external and internal customers, leading to the co-creation of technically sophisticated project concepts.

  • Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment and a strong desire to win.

  • Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Hands-on demeanor combined with strong presentation skills at all levels.

  • Open mentality, proactive and ambitious

  • Fluent in Spanish
