Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults.

Position Summary

The Receptionist Secretary is responsible for answering the main switchboard in a professional and timely manner and will respond to routine questions, forward calls to appropriate departments and/or individuals, take clear and accurate messages when necessary and ensure all staff are apprised of their messages. Meters all outgoing mail accordingly and distribute all incoming mail. Ensures the mail machine contains sufficient postage and orders postage and related supplies as deemed necessary. Processes all overnight packages using FedEx Ship 2.1. Creates and types all letters, memorandums, logs, posters and other work related forms as assigned by the respective Department Heads. Processes all the marketing referral source information and assists the Admissions Director with data input. Codes all accounts payable invoices within a timely and efficiently manner. Other job duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Consistently sets a professional tone to the receptionist area, both in personal behavior and telephone etiquette

  • Consistently answers incoming telephone calls within 3 – 4 rings. Routes calls as quickly as possible

  • Demonstrates good judgement screening and routing telephone calls

  • Greets visitors professionally, with a smile and in a accomodating style

    Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Two (2) years receptionist secretarial required. One (1) year experience in the health care field preferred.

  • Must have a pleasant voice and excellent telephone manners.

  • Must type 40 wpm and should be proficient in Windows 95, Microsoft Office 97, FedEx Ship 2.1, America On Line 4.0 and Medicaid Management Information Systems.

  • Have the ability to prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously and must be able to deal professionally and diplomatically with all staff and the general public.

  • Must have ability to utilize confidentiality and tact in the disposition of daily and assigned projects and all other facets of the position.
