Job Summary:

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Program Director shall be responsible for the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program. They shall have input into budget preparation and provide supervision and coordination to the clinical coordinator. You Will Be Responsible For:

Scope of Responsibility :

  • Develop, design, and deliver instruction in assigned courses and provide course syllabi for instruction

  • Participate in student advising and mentoring

  • Engage in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research

Compliance/Regulatory Responsibility :

  • Review curriculum at regular intervals for adequacy in meeting accreditation, educational and professional requirements

  • Develop and submit all reports and correspondence for program accreditation

  • Develop and review criteria for admission to their respective clinical program and make recommendations to the Admissions Committee

Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility :

  • Assists the Chair with the preparation and submission to administration budget needs andrequests

  • Operate within the parameters of the approved budget

Strategic Planning Responsibility :

  • Serve as a committee member of the standing committees of the University where applicable

  • Assists the chair with the five-year strategic plan, updating the goals, objectives, and assessments

Performance Improvement Responsibility :

  • Present a yearly performance review of program faculty

  • Promote faculty development by encouraging research, writing, participation in professional

  • Organizations’, attendance at workshops & conferences and advanced studies

Community Relations Responsibility :

  • Demonstrate lifestyle consistent with Christian principles in keeping with the mission of Adventist University of Health Sciences and its “Four Words” Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality and Stewardship

Staffing/Labor/Supervisory Responsibility :

  • Recruit and make recommendations to the administration for the addition of faculty and staff asneeds arise, or as directed by the administration

  • Assign courses to reflect appropriate teaching load within the program

Qualifications

What Will You Need:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field

  • Two years of full-time experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field. Full-time is defined as 35 hours per week.\

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :

  • Possess the appropriate credentials specific to one or more of the concentrations offered (Abdomen, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Vascular, and/or Adult Cardiac) through any of the following organizations:

o American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

o American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

o Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
