AVCON, INC. Marketing Intern, Graphic Design (Part Time) in Orlando, Florida
Overview
As part of the Marketing team, the Marketing Intern with a focus in Graphic Design will assist in achieving AVCON’s marketing objectives for developing excellent internal and external graphic designs and layouts. This is a mentorship position designed to serve the immediate objective that provides support to marketing efforts and the long-term objective of internally developing exceptional graphics and marketing talent. Our goal is to provide you with real-world opportunities to design, develop, and collaborate with our Graphic Designer in the exciting industry of engineering and planning.
PROJECT EXPOSURE(may include but are not limited to):
Assist in the implementation of AVCON’s brand both internally and externally.
Ensure graphics and materials are developed within established marketing schedules.
Use Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite skills in accordance with agreed upon parameters, guidelines, and within branding directives with direction from the Graphic Design lead.
Assist with development of a wide variety of deliverables in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment.
Assist with development of design concepts and full design edit or completion for marketing, advertisements, electronic and hard copy publications, website assets, social media banners, conference material, and proposal infographics, or other graphic need.
Assist with design and creation of presentation materials and when needed, design and assembly of handout materials.
Provide support for other production needs and packaging; provide QA/QC with direction from and in collaboration with Graphic Design lead for all work.
Working with Graphic Design lead, maintain an organized, accessible electronic library of digital imagery, videos, and other graphic content created or edited.
Assist with production and printing processes in-house or through outside vendors.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND TECHNCIAL COMPETENCIES
Current Bachelor’s degree student majoring in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Interactive Design, or a related field.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite to include InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint desired.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with team members.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively and calmly in a high-volume environment.
Knowledge of English language to include spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
Self-motivated, conscientious, and willing to learn and ask questions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Some relevant experience that indicates a propensity to excel by demonstrating, initiative, accomplishment, and/or teamwork.
LICENSURE
Valid drivers’ license and maintenance of satisfactory driving record.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
TELECOMMUTING
Due to the collaborative nature of this position and accessibility for in-house client meetings, it is important that this position physically work in the office.
ENVIRONMENT
Work usually takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. Site visits may occasionally take place in an outdoor environment. Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
