Robert Half IT Financial Controller in Orlando, Florida

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an IT Financial Controller in Orlando, Florida. This role primarily involves overseeing the financial activities of the IT department, ensuring budgetary constraints are adhered to, and managing resources and costs in the capital and expense budget for the assigned areas.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the finance and budget responsibilities for the IT department

• Preparing and presenting periodic financial statements summarizing the department's financial status

• Tracking and managing resources and costs in the capital and expense budget and forecasts for assigned areas

• Consolidating financials for the IT organization and providing monthly updates to IT management

• Reviewing invoice coding and validating it against budgets and forecasts

• Utilizing financial systems and PPM tool to research and reconcile financial and resource allocation discrepancies

• Tracking risk and opportunities and communicating updates to management

• Preparing and providing departmental budgets and forecasts

• Managing fee structures and forecasting potential gains and losses

• Tracking invoices, billings, purchase requisitions, and orders

• Liaising with Accounts Payable and vendors to rectify payment issues

• Providing mentoring, expertise, and guidance to fellow IT Analysts and team members. Requirements • Hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Experience in financial control, financial analysis, or similar role within an IT environment

• Proficient in financial reporting, planning, and policy development

• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP), invoicing, payment processing, and billing functions

• Strong understanding of budget processes and capital management

• Ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks and variance analysis

• Experience in monitoring financial performance using financial software or monitoring tools

• Proficient in handling purchase orders and resolving any discrepancy issues

• Familiarity with financial statement preparation and review

• Ability to ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices

• Strong skills in financial control and expenditure management

• Experience working with vendors and providing workstation support

• Strong research skills in a financial context

• Ability to work in a team and independently when necessary.
