NBC Universal Internship – Baking & Pastry, Culinary (Summer 2025) in Orlando, Florida

Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program:

    JOB SUMMARY:

The interns will work alongside seasoned culinarians to get a 360 picture of the hospitality industry, with a focus on the Universal Culinary program. Students will gain exposure to quick service restaurants, full-service venues and our state-of-the-art production kitchen and bakery. Those chosen for this role will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to conduct a presentation that will focus on a dish circled around one of our marquee events or specialty themed locations that will be presented to the Universal Orlando Executive Culinary Team. This role will be fast paced and is ideal for those looking to see the full scale of theme park culinary operation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes hands-on training within Food & Beverage to gain a holistic view of large-scale theme park operations.

  • Assists the Culinary and Bakery & Pastry Team Members getting exposure to multiple operations and styles throughout the resort.

  • Performs duties within different venues as assigned.

  • Presents a dish to the Universal Orlando Executive Culinary Team as a part of a final internship presentation.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.

  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.

  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.

  • An official transcript may be required upon request.

  • Preferred majors include: Baking & Pastry, Hospitality Management, Culinary.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Basic knife skills preferred.

  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.

  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.

  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.

  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2025.

  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
