ROUSH Engineering Intern - Entertainment Systems Fall 2024/Winter 2025 in Orlando, Florida

Are you an individual interested in working on ground-up projects in a creative environment?  We have an immediate need for an Engineering Intern to join our engineering team.  The Engineering Intern is a broad role that offers you the opportunity to work on a variety of engineering programs in the Themed Entertainment Industry supporting ride and show systems. The role works on projects for large and small customers to meet the customers timelines. The Engineering Intern works in a team environment to understand each customer’s unique needs and will perform independent project tasks while also collaborating with customers and team members.  This is a great position for an engineering student interested in complete product life cycle development and excited to work in the themed entertainment industry. This position is located in Orlando. This is for the Fall 2024/Winter 2025 semesters.

Minimum qualifications to be considered as a Engineering Intern:

  • Must be able to work a 40+ hour work week

  • Must currently be pursuing a degree in engineering or engineering technology

  • Must have 6 months of relatable hands-on experience

  • Must be proficient in MS Office

  • Must have a strong desire to learn about the total product life cycle from concept to production, testing, installation, and commissioning as it is related to the themed entertainment industry

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving history

  • Must enjoy working with highly complex electro-mechanical and control systems

  • Must be able to understand complex systems and assist in identifying root causes of problems and faults

  • Must be able to monitor long cycle testing, develop status reports, and communicate issues to engineering and technician teams

  • Must be able to work all shifts including overnight shifts

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on with complex electro-mechanical and/or robotic systems experience strongly preferred

  • CAD experience (SolidWorks or similar)

  • Prior internship experience in a design, manufacturing, and/or testing related environment strongly preferred

  • Strong leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills

  • Possess a basic knowledge of electro-mechanical and robotic components and controls

  • Demonstrated ability to do basic analysis and calculations
