NBC Universal Costume Inventory Lead Opportunities – Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the training and maintenance of costuming inventory integrity and quality through effective use of the InvoTech Inventory Management System in order to minimize loss of assets (costumes). Responsible for install and/or strike of all seasonal costumes used for daily operations (holiday, peak, etc.). Responsible for setup of costumes in hubs and organization of online costumes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides work direction to team members. Monitors compliance of current Company and department policies and procedures. Communicates performance, behavior standards, and expectations: provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Captures written behaviors using Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation. Partner with floor lead to assist in quality control costumes to ensure best show quality product.

  • Monitor equipment and supplies and meets with supervisor to initiate repair/replacement/reorder process. Monitors the progress of the process to assure timely completion. Completes administrative tasks relating to the process and other assigned activities within the Inventory system. Ensure all items are scanned to their proper storage locations using Invotech.

  • Complete monthly “Cycle Counts” of selected type and style in inventory in order to maintain system awareness of the count and location of costume pieces. Reconcile physical counts to data in Invotech. Write up and log items that need to have any modifications/alterations and/or directed by the leadership team. Ensure all items are scanned to their proper locations. As new costumes are approved, assure they are show ready and placed online.

  • Record received shipments of new inventory and ensure that a barcode is applied to each piece and it is correctly entered into Invotech. Receive all items delivered to the appropriate Storage area. Deliver any new product to its location after the receiving process is complete. Process new items that require barcoding, tagging and/or initial cleaning. Responsible for the organization of costume storage areas. Inspect costume pieces to verify show quality. If an item is no longer needed or is not of show quality, get with your supervisor to properly remove the item from the system and discard according to Company policy.

  • Ensure that the costume rails contain enough inventory to support daily operations. If necessary, retrieve additional inventory from storage, add items to the rail and record the move in Invotech. Maintain the organization of the inventory storage areas in a way that promotes the efficiency of Costuming operations. Run and act on reports and metrics pertaining to inventory quality and integrity. Maintain awareness of how Costuming processes affect inventory quality and integrity and notify supervisors of any concerns. Verify order quantities for upcoming purchases. Participate in performer and/or new product fittings when appropriate.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED is required.

  • Technical school and Associate’s degree (AA) is preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years: Basic costume repairs and at least six months of experience providing work direction and previous theatrical experience preferred

  • ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Completion of 90 days of service with Universal Orlando required.

  • Semi-routine; majority of work is covered by established procedures.
