JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Dignitas is seeking a Junior Test Engineer. Core responsibilities will focus on testing all aspects of the product/system like function/component, system, performance, regression, and service. Create test environments (system installation, configuration, and maintenance), design test plans, develop and execute test cases/scenarios, develop, and maintain detailed test documentation, support customer demonstrations, and support customer site system installation and training.

Essential Functions and Requirements

• Knowledge of software and systems engineering processes over the entire software development cycle

• Interact with project management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives

• Develop test procedures and test cases

• Use existing tools and techniques to execute test activities

• Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution

• Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate

• Create and maintain user documentation, such as installation instructions and user manuals

• Support deployment of products which require travel to various sites

• Basic IT/networking skills:

• Basic understanding of command line and file systems

• Familiarity with Windows Operating System

• Basic familiarity with computer hardware

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but can occasionally be expected to direct and assist interns.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Hours of Work

Work is in a computer lab facility. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. 40 hours per week. Travel 25% - 50% (varies), travel duration average of 1 week.

Required Education and Experience

2-4 years of experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other relevant degree preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
