As an R&D Process Performance Improvement Specialist at Suppliers and with a fundamental focus on paper based packaging for systems, you will support Project Managers in assessing stability & capability (performance) of manufacturing processes at capsule suppliers towards requirements. You will also be a critical actor of the cultural change that will happen in the Capsule & Packaging team where Project Managers will become more data driven and make fact based decisions.
A Day in the Life of an R&D Process Performance Improvement Specialist at Suppliers
Propose new methods/approaches in terms of data management and data analysis
Support Packaging Project Managers in establishing Design of Experiments, Process and Design FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and define sampling plans for tests at NSTC and at suppliers
Support Packaging Project Managers and suppliers to define validation plans, to conduct Design of Experiments to optimize process performances, to facilitate Root Cause Analysis and identify process improvement protocol and ensures installation of 6 Sigma processes
Present results/methods in written and oral form to interested parties or suppliers
Provide accurate and on-time support to suppliers and help provide effective and sustainable solutions.
Activate relevant internal and external networks to deliver the project and ensure knowledge sharing
What will make you successful
Degree/background in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
5+ years of experience in manufacturing process improvement with a strong connection to data management and analysis
Expertise in manufacturing processes, ideally for packaging (i.e.: capsules) or processes in the automotive industry
Experience managing suppliers
Lean Manufacturing
Minimum Green Belt (Black Belt ideally) and/or Six Sigma certification a must
Good working experience with or within R&D environment
Team player mindset with willingness to share knowledge and coach colleagues
Experience in paper manufacturing (wet pulp moulding, lamination) is a definitive plus
Fluent in English, French is a plus
