10962 Program Director in Orangeburgh, New York

This position directs and coordinates (the program activities delete ) possibly substitute NAMI Programs. He/she assists in the development of new programs; provides supervision of the Family Peer Advocacy Program (FPA) to ensure that it is conducted in an ethical and efficient manner. Program Director is responsible for the recording and reporting of required grant related information. He/she integrates the mission and values of NAMI in all work. Reports to: Program Director (PD) reports to Executive Director (ED)Position Type: Full Time / ExemptDuties and Responsibilities •Responsible for the development, expansion and marketing of NAMI programs and courses.• Provides supervision to Family Peer Advocate Program Staff (FPAs). Engages in the orientation and skill development of all FPAs.•Under the oversight of the President/ED participates in recruitment, interviewing, hiring and training of new employees for the FPA program.•Collaborates with the Community Outreach Coordinator( COC) to develop public relations/outreach materials to enhance the organization’s image and promote educational programs.• Under the oversight of ED/Treasurer prepares reports to funders including but not limited to the Rockland County Department of Mental Health and NYS OMH; To be submitted in a timely manner.•Provides Bookkeeper with needed information to ensure accurate financial record keeping•Submits monthly financial and program report and sends to Treasurer and President one week in advance of scheduled Board Meeting.•Remains current with professional and technical advances; attends educational workshops and conferences, and reviews professional literature.•Performs other tasks as needed within the scope of the job.Knowledge/Skills/Competencies required for position: •Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills needed. • Job related knowledge and experience using Quick Books. •Ability to work independently, multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines. • Familiarity with child and young adult behavioral health services in Rockland County. •Represents NAMI Rockland in the community and strives to advance the work of the organization.•Communicates effectively with colleagues.•Valid driver's license required.Credentials/Experience: Professional master’s degree in a mental health field, designated by the NYS Ed., as a licensed mental health practitioner, is required. Minimum of two year supervisory experience in behavioral health required. Knowledge of cultural diversity and the importance of integrating diversity into the work of NAMI Rockland. Personal experience as a parent/ caregiver of an individual with behavioral/mental health issues, a plus.Salary Range: To be determined by experience.

Minimum Salary: 25 Maximum Salary: 30 Salary Unit: Hourly
