Honeywell Process Safety Engineer in Orange, Texas

In this Process Safety Management (PSM) and Loss Prevention role, you will provide project management and process improvement leadership establishing strong working relationships with different departments at site. You will be a key member of a team to drive improvement in the process safety program and drive execution of PSM compliance activities. You will accomplish this by establishing strong working relationships with all departments and the employees. As a key member of the site HSE Process Safety team, you will be implementing strong programs through incorporation of impactful operating processes and keeping in front of leading practices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement all aspects of process safety management, including compliance with applicable regulations, reviewing effectiveness of process hazard assessments, supporting PHA, LOPA and other process safety modeling activities in PMT

  • Support the business in evaluation of process risk utilizing dispersion modeling tools and risk tolerance criteria

  • Complete reviews of scenarios and risk engineering to support design and implementation of PSM projects, including loss prevention, top risk, and PHA recommendation implementations

  • Support teams to continuously improve the HSE Management System, engineering practices and applying Honeywell's

  • Operating System tools for process improvement

  • Drive a proactive PSM culture at our PSM.

  • Support the implementation of PMT and corporate HSE Process Safety standards

  • Lead projects to support PSM initiatives

  • Provide technical assistance and Site compliance reviews, ensuring compliance to standards

  • Coordinate and participate in PHAs and willing to get trained to be a PHA facilitator.

  • Develop Pre-Feed/FEL-1 packages for capital projects

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement process changes/control plans to drive continuous improvement

  • Utilize MOC process to manage changes

  • Support operations in troubleshooting daily process issues as needed

  • Develop new SOPs or update existing ones as needed

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing facility or engineering role at a PSM covered site

WE VALUE

  • Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing preferred

  • Chemical, polymer, fiber manufacturing experience preferred

  • Experience with identifying process changes and recommendations

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience scoping projects with business level impact

  • Ability to work without guidance or supervision

  • Ability to accurately identify patterns to solve problem

  • Experience with Management of Change process

  • Experience with Process Simulation software (ASPEN, HTRI, PIPE-FLO) for chemical process equipment design

  • Working knowledge of RAGAGEP
