Job Description

As a constantly growing company, Danfoss is looking for motivated employees who want to work with us on our success. We are looking for a Senior Engineer Motor Control to join our diverse team.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Responsible for conducting, leading and coordinating software development activities throughout the project, including key design decisions for the technology, structure and configuration of the system.

• Participates in the design of embedded software modules or subsystems that optimize and balance the goals of the project.

• Be a member of global team in software development activities in the embedded software area for Danfoss Drives

• Contribute ideas in a collaborative, supportive team environment.

• Ability to understand requirements and translate them into suitable solution architecture.

• Help to estimate and prioritize tasks and track progress in any development methodology.

Key tasks

• Overall design, development and testing of the software modules for the Motor oriented controller.

• Ownership of technical tasks/solutions related to Motor Oriented Control software

• Engaged in new feature development and also do changes, improvements and updates to existing inverter motor control software.

• Estimation of development efforts

• Reviews of the implemented features

• Reviews of requirements and other relevant documents

• Ensure adherence to development processes & various tools

Minimum requirements to educational background

• Masters Degree or Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering or Embedded Systems or any related field

Minimum requirements to working experience

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in embedded field.

• At least 4 years of experience required in leading large design efforts and coordinating project teams.

• Expertise in embedded C programming and debugging tools.

• Experience in developing embedded software for various micro controllers.

• Experience in control of power electronics(PID controls, V/F, FOC, DTC, PWM different control loops)

• Experience in Digital Signal Processors covering Sample and Hold registers, Analog to Digital Converters (ADC), Analog comparators, High-Resolution Pulse Width Modulator (HRPWM) module, Event managers and QEP’s

• Knowledge of digital signaling processing including continues and discrete time signals and equations

• Proficiency with software rapid prototyping tools such as Matlab/Simulink tools and familiarity with SIL, MIL, PIL, HIL methodologies

• Experience in detailed analysis, feasibility studies, performance analysis and prototyping, use of different protocol analyzer tools.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

• Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.

Essential personal characteristics

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.

Other aspects

• General Variable frequency drive or related domain experience

• Knowledge in Control Systems.

• Experience with Software Configuration Management Tools such as ClearCase, and Change Management Tools such as ClearQuest.

• Prior experience with flux estimation methods, 3-phase power control, analytical control system theory development and analysis.

• Experience with various PWM schemes such as space vector, discontinuous, and sinusoidal modulation, including data-acquisition methods.

• Understanding of torque control techniques such as slip-based control, field oriented control, direct torque control.
