We are hiring for a EH&S Principal Specialist in Miami Gardens, FL. Drive regulatory compliance and adherence to EH&S standards, contribute to EH&S programs and fostering a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility. Engaging with all levels of our workforce, you'll implement EH&S initiatives, assist in incident management, contribute to technical reviews and risk assessments, and ensure comprehensive EH&S training. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining a safe workplace and achieving excellence in EH&S performance.

    This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.

What You Will Do:

.

  • Recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazardous workplace conditions

  • Taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influencing safe behaviors

  • Working with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EHS requirement

  • Execute initiatives, programs, reports, and trainings across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance.

  • Auditing and evaluating current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Investigating, analyzing, and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place

  • Interact with employees and promote relationships, learn the tasks employees perform and be known as a resource to the employees at the site. Work toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.

  • Responsible for identifying, monitoring, controlling, and documenting all hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams including schedules of hazardous waste shipments, manifests, and the development of waste minimization program.

  • Monitor and report EH&S metrics to determine the effectiveness of daily operations

  • What You Will Learn:

  • Learn to provide expert technical guidance to senior leadership, ensuring effective implementation of EH&S Management System requirements

  • Learn to ensure timely and accurate reporting of EH&S metrics, providing insights into performance and areas for improvement.

  • Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior EH&S, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

  • Experience in Safety and environmental regulations/ programs

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:

  • Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements.

  • Experience developing and implementing environmental programs or campaigns

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

  • Manufacturing environment experience.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
