Job Description

There is an immediate requirement for a dPCE to be the Engineering Representative in the Programme Team for the scope of engineering work delegated by Program Chief Engineer. This role will be shared between the 787 and the Military/Commuter teams reporting to the relevant PCE. The selected candidate will ensure technical authority for the delegated work scope/program(s); ensure technical interface with customers (Airframers, MROs,Airlines); liaise with other operational functions for all technical aspects: manufacturing, purchasing, costs, customer support, quality.

Responsibilities will include to:

• Delegate for Airworthiness for the program and as such apply the directives from Internal Airworthiness Authorities.

• Delegate Engineering activities: objectives completion, costs (NRC & RC), schedules.

• Correct application of Company processes for engineering activities (Safran One Develop).

• Management of engineering change control (PCD-SLS-000088) including SAE ARP 4754 processes.

• Product development Non Recurring Costs (NRC) and design-based Recurring Costs (RC).

• Test specimen definition, manufacturing & repair coordination, conformity, and documentation oversight.

• Coordinate with other functions (Programs, Production, Customer Services, etc) and with the Customer to achieve Company objectives.

• Support investigation of in-service events and for Airworthiness Occurrences to ensure Continuing Airworthiness.

• Define technical objectives and schedules to meet Programme Requirements agreed within EDRP process, in accordance with Engineering Managers orientations.

• Establish Work Breakdown Structure, Statement Of Work and list of deliverables expected from engineering functions (Design & Analysis, Systems, Performance & Dynamics, Materials & Processes, Test), in respect of the Engineering Demand Review (EDR) Process.

• Establish priorities for all actions & deliverables expected from engineering functions.

• Establish development plans to meet them in cooperation with Engineering functions and Engineering Audit.

• Decide/arbitrate on technical choices.

• Ensure that technical audits are carried out and that associated actions are issued and progress tracked in due time.

• Ensure compliance to quality assurance and company procedures.

• Ensure technical risk mitigation plans are developed and implemented when approved by programme and function.

• Consolidate Qualification Plan and submit it to Airworthiness approval.

• Establish Flight Clearance documentation and Accomplishment Summaries and submit it to Airworthiness approval

• During Development Phase: Conduct design, development, industrialisation and qualification of landing gear structures and systems to meet performance, costs (NRC & RC on a standard basis that has to defined and agreed with the program manager) and schedule objectives.

Job Requirements

• A university degree in Mechanical / Aerospace engineering coupled with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.

• Strong product knowledge of manufacturing and industrialisation processes, Company procedures and processes.

• Experience in Aeronautical systems, Aircraft specifications and costs evaluation.

• Proven Programme and Project-management skills.

• Strong understanding of Airworthiness requirements and Quality systems.

• Excellent Communication skills with a strong Customer focus.

• Decision-making, Leadership and People Management skills.
