Summary of Position Functions:Directs, manages, and administers the Life Skills Program to include Recreation, Independent Living, Career Preparation Period and Evening Program. Major duties and responsibilities:Directs, manages, and administers the Life Skills Program to ensure students live in an organized, clean and safe environment.Ensures the center meets or exceeds, DOL/ETR performance goals and objectives.Oversees development and implementation of effective dormitory programs such as social skills training, peer discipline systems, student incentive systems, evening programs and group counseling.Ensures a system of dormitory accountability and records maintenance.Provides supervision, training, assessment, and leadership for departmental staff.Creates a supportive work environment, recognizes staff accomplishments and proactively addressed staff performance goals.Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.Acts as the Center Director in their absence Ensures area of oversight is compliant with all PRH, Center and ETR SOP’s, directives, and COP’s Monitors and administers a departmental budget and works within budgetary constraints. Develops staff for career progression,Plans, organizes, and controls the use overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with Center and ETR Policy and Procedures. Skills and Competencies:Demonstrated knowledge of management practices and principals and proven ability to lead and support teamsStrong working knowledge of the methods and practices of Job Corps administration or a similar programProven track record of meeting and exceeding goals and objectivesProven ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budgetAbility to effectively build organizations and staff capacity Capacity to set and enforce accountabilityEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to adapt in a fast-changing environmentProficient using computers and computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Educational Requirements and Experiences: Bachelor’s DegreeThree years’ work-related experience in Job Corps or similar programsMust possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
