The Community Employment Partnership Coordinator will facilitate a direct connection between SUNY Oneonta students and the University's health and human services workforce partners with a specific emphasis on the partnership with Springbrook. The position will focus on the marketing, recruitment and myriad of internship and career opportunities, developing an awareness of best practice and implementing programs designed to maximize SUNY Oneonta-Springbrook student opportunities as well as opportunities with our other partners. Serving as the lead project manager and coordinator for all Springbrook-SUNY Oneonta student and alumni employment initiatives, the successful candidate will report to the Program Director and Advisor for Pre-Health Professions and will collaborate with other offices at the University such as Career Planning and Networking, and the ExCL Center.

The successful candidate will join SUNY Oneonta's Pre-Health Professions Office, dedicated to serving students and the community. The Pre-Health Professions Office provides specialized guidance and support for students preparing to apply to Health Professional Schools while pursuing a career in the health care industry. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate activities involving the referral of students and alumni to professional employment and/or post-baccalaureate education with a direct connection to Springbrook. Programs include:

  • Springbrook STEP

  • Internships

  • Tabling events

  • Experience Springbrook Day

  • Departmental focus groups

  • Facilitate faculty awareness within relevant departments

  • Shadowing opportunities

  • Volunteer opportunities.

  • Facilitate faculty awareness within relevant departments.

  • Advise undergraduate students seeking early career exposure with local partners, including Bassett, Fox, and Helios.

  • Track and assess the success of recruitment initiatives aimed at attracting students to Springbrook, making recommendations for improvements.

  • Coordinate with Springbrook Human Resources on onboarding functions and provide necessary support from program staff.

  • Communicate with candidates and new hires throughout the employment process.

  • Stay informed about workforce changes and developments in healthcare, special education, and human services.

  • Serve as a resource for undergraduate students seeking early career exposure opportunities, providing information sessions, workshops, and job search strategies for part-time, per diem, and volunteer positions locally during the semester and summer.

Job Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Minimum of two years professional or three years paraprofessional experience in an academic setting.

  • Demonstrated effective written communication skills and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated record of being highly motivated and self-directed.

  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree.

  • Direct college level advising experience.

  • Experience in career development.

  • Evidence of successful collaborations across units in large institutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with students for positive outcomes.

  • Bilingual.

  • Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
