This position is a tested position in the Competitive class (provisional appointment) paid at $33.24 per hour that may be responsible for any of the following:•Maintains and repairs all equipment including specialized equipment engaged in the conveyance and treatment of wastewater including all computer and electronic controls of same;•Maintains complete and accurate computerized records of all maintenance activities;•Develops and supervises predictive and preventative maintenance program;•Plans and supervises maintenance activities performed by operators and temporary laborers;•Plans and implements projects with Chief Operator;•Maintains digital network which controls plant operations;•Maintains inventory or repair parts and requisitions equipment and parts as needed; participates in budget planning process and five year plan development with City Engineer and Chief Operator; reviews maintenance manuals to determine proper maintenance intervals for all WWTP equipment;•Inspects and reports to Chief Operator on correctness and appropriateness of contractors doing work for the WWTP.FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:Good knowledge of the techniques and practices used in the maintenance, installation and repair of equipment utilized at an advanced waste water treatment plant; good knowledge of the methods used in the operation of such a plant; working knowledge of the principles of electricity, hydraulics, and computer science as they relate to wastewater treatment and disposal; full knowledge of the National Electrical Code; ability to carry out oral and written instructions; mechanical aptitude; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and five years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and/or installation of electrical equipment, electronic controls, electric motors, pumps, and valves required for conveying liquids, water borne solids, and/or gases through a large industrial processing facility.The City of Oneida is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action EmployerIt is the policy of the City of Oneida to provide for and promote equal opportunity in employment, compensation and other terms and conditions of employment without discrimination because of age, race, creed, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, military status, genetic predisposition, carrier status, political affiliation, or belief.Should you be interested, applications and additional information are available in the Civil Service Office, City Hall (2nd Floor), 109 N.
