Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) within 8 months of hire date Job Description: The audiology technician will assist the audiologist in providing hearing and balance evaluations. Major Responsibilities: 1. Demonstrates professional accountability by maintaining a level of knowledge, confidentiality & skill, as defined in CBO/P, related to current and changing trends of patient care in order to deliver optimal, cost-effective care and achieve the mission and vision of Gundersen Health System. 2. Performs patient care under the direction of an Audiologist for which there are protocols, written or verbal orders commensurate with education, experience and competency in order to maintain health, prevent illness or care for the ill. 3. Works with the health care team to effectively communicate and document relevant patient information across the continuum of care in order to achieve optimal, cost-effective care and maintain a complete and accurate medical record. 4. Incorporates the patient/family\'s readiness to learn when reinforcing teaching initiated by an Audiologist in order to achieve optimal, age-specific and individualized care. 5. Assist audiologist in audiological and vestibular testing in pediatric and adult populations. 6. Responsible for rooming patients and obtaining hearing health history. 7. Under the supervision of an audiologist, the audiology technician may service hearing aids, perform basic, non-programming modifications to hearing aids and ear molds and do in house repairs. The technician will also assist the audiologist in fitting hearing aids and the review of care and cleaning of hearing aids.
