Conagra Financial Analyst in Omaha, Nebraska

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, you will manage the administration and reporting from the Cadency tool for the entire Finance Organization. This tool is a Trintech product and is used to complete Balance Sheet reconciliations, post journal entries, and track journal entry approvals and month end close tasks to facilitate timely financial close for the Controller’s Group. This role will utilize knowledge of key SOX controls, fiscal close policies, and account reconciliation principles. The role also includes being a liaison with the IT Department on any projects that have Cadency or CCG touch points, related processes, and testing and system design.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the administration of the Cadency tool; including loading of subledger balances, foreign currency rates, and new tasks; assigning and verifying child accounts to reconciliations.

  • Provide security access for users per control guidelines and working IT SAR change request for the Cadency tool.

  • Cadency audits including journal entry audits, internal and external audits, quality assurance audits, data integrity checks and validation of balances loaded in the tool to our actual balances in our ERP system.

  • Ensure the completeness and timeliness of Conagra’s fiscal close by tracking and communicating with Cadency end users (preparers and reviewers) period-end close activities to ensure completion of assigned tasks to maintain this SOX Control.

  • Create monthly accounting schedules as support for the balance sheet account reconciliations and financial audits.

  • Use your knowledge of the Cadency tool and account reconciliations to assist end-users with problems they may have with their balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • Respond to information requests from external/internal CCG customers and provide training to Cadency end-users.

  • Support Cadency tool upgrades and implementations.

  • Exercise judgment in financial, operational, or transactional analysis to identify and help resolve issues.

  • Evaluate effectiveness of processes, procedures, and control environment and develop improvements. Provide process documentation (e.g. desk procedures) and recommend process improvements.

  • Communicate information impacting both internal and external customers.

  • Alert management of situations that may materially affect the company’s overall financial condition.

  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment both within and outside of assigned area of responsibility. Ability to cross-train in other areas of the department and the CCG is critical.

  • Participate in special projects involving general accounting, such as mergers/acquisitions, SFAS updates, business partner requests, and systems conversions.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

  • 2+ years of business experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, financial accounting, Cost Accounting, etc.

  • Ability to research and reconcile multiple accounts

  • SAP (and its reporting tools) experience preferred

  • Control Software experience is a plus

  • PowerBI/PowerAutomate experience a plus
