The Branch General Manager will lead, manage, and oversee strategy, sales and operational activities for our Des Moines, IA branch location, as well as our office location in Omaha, NE. Why is this role so important? The Branch Manager deploys and motivates staff to achieve sales, installation and/or service delivery activities, and assures that Branch employees appropriately leverage available resources, such as FBA, HR, Legal, Procurement, EHS, and Field Operations Standards / Sales Standards / Business Excellence. This highly visible position develops and maintains personal contact with new and current major customers at the executive level to maximize opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.

This position can reside in either our Omaha, NE location or Des Moines, IA branch location.

As a Branch General Manager, you will:

  • Collaborate with Zone management regarding branch strategies, plans, performance and other pertinent conditions

  • Direct sales management, leading a team of sales professionals

  • Lead the implementation of the Smart Infrastructure strategy in the markets for you’re responsible for

  • Lead implementation of Business Target Agreements at the branch level

  • Employ a balanced scorecard approach with equal emphasis on employee engagement, customer satisfaction and loyalty and shareholder commitments

  • Routinely provide accurate orders, revenue and profit forecasts, deliver to annual budget requirements, oversee cost control, asset management as well as other financial deliverables

  • Manage workforce utilization planning for sales, service operations and support functions to ensure effective staffing for current and future business needs

  • Develop and maintain personal contact with new and current major customers to maximize opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction and provide support for current and future projects or service contracts

  • Foster profitable growth through definition and implementation of team-selling strategies that expand SI business with existing customers and/or penetrate new accounts

  • Be responsible for branch employee engagement, safety and retention activities

  • Ensure all managers and supervisors foster career development for themselves and their employees

  • Be responsible for developing branch employee commitment to customer satisfaction and promoting positive employer branding and the reputation of Siemens

  • Ensure compliance with all federal and local rules and regulations applicable to the geographic area as well as all company policies and procedures. Support compliance protocol under the SI Compliance Officer

  • Act as a company representative and liaison to customers and local authorities to capitalize on local market opportunities

  • Represent Siemens SI to customers, within the communities we do business, and with thought leaders and market influencers in this region

  • The Branch Manager may work with other Divisions in order to provide comprehensive customer solutions across Siemens’ products and services

  • Direct the implementation of Branch sales and operations solutions and services programs, Workflow Standards, Quality and Productivity, Safety programs, best practices and other initiatives

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with commercial building automation, fire/life safety, and/or security systems: in either a sales management and/or operations management role leading, motivating, and directing a team toward achievement of common goals, although candidates with Siemens experience will also be considered

  • 5+ years experience as a P&L manager with demonstrated results in delivering performance to budget, although candidates with Siemens experience will also be considered

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or other related field

  • Prior experience in Operations, Sales, or both

  • Travel throughout the IA/NE territory, 30% overnight travel average

  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations to participate in the required Siemens vehicle reimbursement program (FAVR)

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Operations and Sales, Solutions and Service, and Energy service

  • The pay range for this position is $118,700 - $203,600 / year and the annual incentive target is 25% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
