Description
We are working with a local company who is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis in the Olympia area. As a Sr. Accountant, your role will be crucial in managing key accounting functions within a manufacturing environment. You will be working closely with managers and the President, leading a small team, and collaborating with third-party auditors to ensure robust internal controls and timely audits.
Responsibilities Include:
• Handle the daily administration of accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Credit Card, and Cash postings.
• Take charge of the monthly closing process, including the preparation of financial statements following GAAP accrual-based accounting.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the accounting function and related processes.
• Manage controls over master data such as Vendor, Customer, and Items.
• Maintain the integrity of company assets by ensuring an effective system of internal controls.
• Verify that all general ledger accounts are accurately stated, reconciled, and classified.
• Ensure financial statements/reporting are prepared in line with GAAP.
• Record Lease Obligations accurately.
• Advocate for accurate product job-costing in systems, including reviewing standards and labor rates.
• Coordinate the annual Physical Inventory process, ensuring accurate counts and adjustments.
• Support the annual and quarterly planning/forecasting processes.
• Serve as the administrator for financial systems and assist users with ticket resolution.
• Manage the relationship with the IT Third Party Administrator to ensure secure and effective IT systems are in place.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 annually. Benefits offered with this position include 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental and Vision benefits for the employee (90% paid for dependents), 80 hours of PTO and 52 hours of sick time in the first year, 9 paid holidays, and participation in the 401k w/ a 4% match.
Requirements
• Possess proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all accounts are accurately represented and discrepancies are quickly rectified.
• Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation to maintain financial accuracy and transparency.
• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations to ensure company records align with bank statements.
• Proficient in managing the General Ledger, including recording financial transactions and monitoring credits and debits.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and report generation.
• Capable of efficiently handling Month End Close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Knowledge of Costing principles to aid in the evaluation of financial performance and decision-making processes.
• Experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting, understanding the costs of goods produced and creating budgets and forecasts.
• Proficient in Financial Reporting, delivering clear and concise reports to aid strategic planning.
• Ability to make Adjusting Journal Entries to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Experience in managing Fixed Assets, including calculation of depreciation and monitoring of asset utilization.
