Aaron's Inc Warehouse Assistant Manager in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The Warehouse Assistant Managers responsibility is to manage the day to day operations of their department within the warehouse while achieving operational goals and ensuring service results are met. Then Warehouse Assistant manager supervises a team of logistics professionals that can include CDL & Short Haul drivers, Maintenance workers, equipment operators and warehouse associates. Warehouse Assistant Managers ensure product is received, placed in storage for future store orders to be processed and delivered timely to each store location.Warehouse Assistant Managers are accountable for employee engagement and building a positive culture, while maintaining departmental productivity, customer service, and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Passcode & Key Holder

  • Responsible for all functional activities within their department of the Warehouse

  • Strong logistical/distribution experience

  • WMS experience plus RF technology

  • MS Office Suite proficiency

  • Powered Industrial Truck management

  • Security & Loss Prevention

  • Motivational & Accountability skills

  • Attention to detail and proactivity

  • Articulate, clear communication skills

  • Team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, logistics and inventory control

  • Knowledge of warehouse safety routines

  • Proven warehouse supervisory experience

  • Excellent organization, analytic and interpersonal skills

  • Team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Control the flow of goods into and out of the warehouse via monitoring inventory levels, scheduling PO’s for delivery, maintain appointment schedule

  • FIFO Inventory management

  • Forklift, Fire Prevention, D.O.T. and General Safety Training of all associates

  • Provide training, follow up and monitor compliance with safety programs

  • Train employees and monitor all procedures using Aaron’s FC Manual

  • Organizing associate’s daily activities and work schedules

  • Maintain a workforce proportionate to the volume of business

Required Education, Experience, and Certifications:

•High School graduate or equivalent.

•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred in transportation, business or related area

•Experience in the transportation industry with knowledge of operations and logistics

•Human relations skills (stress management, conflict resolution, empathy)

•Critical thinking – applying safety, compliance, and policy to everyday situations

•Ability to evaluate and develop individuals, provide coaching and promote team building in order to meet goals/standards of productivity

•Ability to adapt to changing conditions in market as they effect product flow, product handling, and customer service requirements

•Ability and willingness to delegate tasks and authority while retaining accountability for departmental performance

•Learn and Use various computer applications

•Must be flexible, willing to work any schedule, including weekends and holidays, in all types of weather.

Working Conditions:

Office Environment – Exposure to climate-controlled environment and may encounter sounds/noises of moderate levels.

Retail/Warehouse Environment – Exposure to varying temperatures and may include working inside and outside in heat/cold. May encounter sounds/noises of varying levels.
