The Hertz Corporation Manager Lease & Technical Accounting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

A Day in the Life:

The Technical and Lease Accounting Manager will lead the Company’s lease accounting function and will also assist the Company’s technical accounting function with researching the accounting for various transactions including but not limited to debt offerings, securitizations, derivatives, and customer and supplier contracts.

We expect the starting salary to be around $107k; the actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lease Accounting

  • Manage lease accounting close and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policy and procedures for the accurate and timely reporting.

  • Manage lease accounting operations and activities including legal document review, classification testing, measurement/remeasurement.

  • Directly supervise/coach staff and assist in their professional development.

  • Review journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, roll forwards, flux analyses, and disclosures to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and reporting.

  • Research and analyze issues and inquiries and provide guidance to staff when resolving issues.

  • Technical Accounting:

  • Consult with internal business partners on transactions (as noted above) to ensure proper accounting and reporting treatment.

  • Inform and consult with management on new accounting and regulatory standards (e.g. SEC, and FASB).

  • Assist with the review of the Company’s external financial reporting documents, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, S-1, 8-K, Prospectus and Prospectus Supplements.

  • Research technical accounting and reporting matters and author accounting memos and research papers.

  • Communicate policy and technical matters to the organization, including senior management.

  • Interact with internal and external auditors on technical accounting and reporting matters.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Audit firm experience preferred

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting required

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required

  • Four to six years of progressive accounting experience

  • ASC 842 lease accounting experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations

  • Prior experience with enterprise general ledger accounting systems (Oracle Cloud preferred)

  • Prior experience with CoStar or similar lease software preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Commitment to process improvement

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to the changing priorities and needs of internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external auditors

  • Strong leadership experience, including excellent interpersonal skills

  • A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
